Genre: Black industrial metal (or black powernoise as the band seem to prefer calling their style)

Introducing black powernoise, Visthia return once more to wreak havoc on your ears. Black powernoise is in reality a blend of black metal and industrial soundscapes.

The black metal side consists of fierce black metal with tremolo picking and variously paced blastbeats, some of which are insanely fast, combined with heavier passages. The vocals are harsh and the dissonance and tense harmonies are there, too. So, in a way, the black metal side to the album is, for the most part, pretty traditional so there should be a lot of appeal to black metal fans here, too.

Industrial side to the album ranges from dark soundscapes of pure industrial noise (as in 'Vos Gloriam Consequi', 'Id Vidi Splendere Nocte', and 'Horrete Coela') over some programmed drum beats to the use of sampled dialogue and the like. While the black metal aspect of this album is definitely extreme and aggressive, I think that it is the industrial elements that are the most challenging to listen to because of the emphasis on industrial noise (a track like 'Iugum Mei Sceleris', while not so much a noisy one, comes across as being chaotic and frantic [which is probably intended] and will probably not be an easy listen to everybody).

Fans of dark experimental extreme music and noisy soundscape should definitely check this album out. It's unpleasant and challenging and very interesting.
