WHITE LION ROCKIN' THE USA reviews

Specialists/collaborators reviews

Stephen
Rocking The USA" was recorded live in Mar-Feb 2005, when the resurrected White Lion with the new line-up toured with Enuff Z'Nuff across America. In this double-discs release, Tramp's White Lion brings back the classic tunes from their four official albums with a crystal clear sound production which has been carefully mixed by Michael Wagener.

Tramp's voice still sounded the same, even though sometimes it felt like he didn't want (or unable) to reach the high note anymore. Jamie Law, the Australian guitarist, surprisingly handled the guitar section very well. Some of the songs offered a different composition such as "Love Don't Come Easy" and "When The Children Cry", but the rest of them were played quite similar to the studio albums, only this time, they added a dominant keyboard sound, which also served an important role of backing up the harmonic rhythm of Law's guitar play.

I would say, for a live album in a club, this one is averagely enjoyable and they did a good job of recreating a nostalgic atmosphere. A small mistake or two is simply forgivable and hats up to Jamie Law and the new line-ups for playing tight. However, this is not an essential release and I only recommend this to White Lion completist.
