"Pull" is Winger's overlooked gem of an album, marking a significant change in their style of music. For most, this is a good thing, going from the infamous commercially based rock of their previous albums to a far more aggressive style of playing, focusing more on the musicianship than what will ultimately sell. If you are like me and you know and love the Winger that earned them a bad reputation to begin with, then this will be a definite change from the norm you may be accustomed to.
However, one thing remains constant on this album and that is the guitar extraordinaire of Reb Beach. Once again, Reb proves that he is worth his weight in gold. From the melodically driven solos to the almost Lynch-esque riffage in every song, Reb is spectacular as always.
Very good album, especially if you don't necessarily like Winger.
