Do you really like "Slam" Death Metal? No seriously, do you love the stuff? When you wake up in the morning do you think "Damn, I'd love myself some Fruit Loops right now" or do you think "Fuck, I need to head bang and the beat the shit out of the air" while Molesting the Decapitated plays in the background? Well sadly if you're either you're probably going to find that this album contains some of the most ridiculous and stupid Brutal Death Metal I've ever heard. It's as if Dumb & Dumber decided playing in a Suffocation tribute band would be awesome, but then they realised they had no skill so they could only play the breakdowns as a result.
Anyway, this album is shockingly simple. One minute it's constant slamming, then you get roughly five seconds of non-breakdown moments only to go back to even more slamming. You really have to worship the art of the breakdown to get any enjoyment out of this album. It goes for roughly half an hour and if you subtract the useless intro/outro you get twenty two minutes of breakdowns that chug along and the rest of the album is riffs. Tracks all blend into each other and the only way you can tell them apart is if there's half a second of silence in-between them.
So now that we've covered all things breakdown, I should probably mention the vocals. They are among the very worst in Brutal Death Metal, hell, they're some of the worst vocals I've ever heard. He sounds like a frog attempting pig squeals. Imagine CHUG-CHUG-CHUG while the vocals go RIBBIT-RIBBIT-RIBBIT over the top of them.
It should be said that In the End of Human Existence has amazing production for a Brutal Death Metal release. Normally it falls on the completely average side of things (Age of Onset by Pathology) or completely annoying (Molesting the Decapitated by Devourment). In the End of Human Existence on the other hand has a nice thick guitar tone (which is a must really) and everything is very clear (except for the bass, which I didn't hear once). The vocals could have been mixed lower so we wouldn't have to put up with his voice every second of the album, but apart from that the album is really well done in the production/mixing department.
So yes, this album is incredibly stupid. It's nothing more than a bunch of breakdowns with some riffs getting in the way, but much like all those terrible B-Movies, if you enjoy stupidity and ridiculousness you should be able to get some enjoyment out of this.
