After the big success on their eponymous debut with the single "When I See Your Smile", somehow this second release was left out of the party and just vanished with the wind. With single "Straight From The Heart" stayed only for a moment in the Billboard Top 40 chart, Bad English was disbanded soon after.
"Backlash" itself actually is still as strong as their debut spanning many great tracks, from the uptempo AOR "So This Is Eden", "Dancing Off The Edge of The World", and "Rebel Say A Prayer" to the heartfelt ballads, "The Time Alone With You", "Savage Blue", and the single "Straight To Your Heart". With the golden vocal of John Waite and the stunning emotional guitar playing of Neal Schon, Bad English was more than just a mere pop rock band, this is a bunch of skillful musicians with an extra-ordinary songwriting ability. Highly recommended!
