Hell's militia...
Genre: black metal
One of Australia's most extreme bands ever, Bestial Warlust were active in the 1990s and must be said to have a cult, nay, a kvlt, status these days. The members have since split up and moved on to other projects, including Destroyer 666 and Vomitor, but Bestial Warlust's violent music remains.
The wonderfully titled "Satans Fist" was a demo released back in 1996, but has now been reissued on Hell's Headbangers. The three tracks on the album are violent blastbeat-filled black metal tracks in the vein of Mayhem and other early second wave black metal bands from the Norwegian scene. Not exactly original, but rich in chaos and evil, the three tracks should appeal to hardcore fans of the genre.
The production is considerably fuzzy, which makes sense, given that this release stems from the 90s. What is interesting is that, rather than your average black metal type of production, the sound has more of a death metal feel to it, while the music is decidedly black metal.
A dark gem in the world of black metal, "Satan's Fist" should appeal to fans of the rawer and more violent type of black metal.
