Crush's only album ".. this" was originally released in 1994 independently and later was picked up and reissued by Retrospect because of high demand. Musically, Crush is playing commercial melodic hard rock, they do have a lot of great songs that have the potential to penetrate radio and MTV, if only this was released in the late 80s. Mike Graham, unfortunately to me, his vocal isn't up the standard compared to their music, acceptable but not really that great.
"Broken Wing" can be the leading single, the arrangement is flawless and it's hard not to like this kinda song if you're into melodic rock. "Somebody To Love" is a beautiful uptempo tune with catchy riffs and Pretty Boy Floyd typical gangshout chorus. "Need You Tonight" and "Searchin" are both excellent songs with memorable choruses. "Too Late" has some nice harmonic vocals, the verse is great but somehow the chorus is a bit let down, but overall still a solid song.
"All Work" is very similar to Poison and "Lucky One" is another good track here. "Be Your Man" is a decent ballad, while "Easy Street", "Remember When", and "Day By Day" are passable fillers. With only few really outstanding tracks and several good tracks with weak vocal and average rhythm section, 3 stars is the best I can give. If only the vocal part is stronger and they omit those fillers and bring on more great tunes, this will be much better. Nevertheless, a good melodic rock record to have if you can find it cheap.
