Time Signature
With a spit from Hell's Headbangers, you know you're in for some crazy evil shit. This one features two band from the Chilean metal underground - namely, the death metal act Atomic Aggressor and the blackened deathsters in Death Yell. Both tracks are actually pretty good.
Atomic Aggressor's contribution 'Blind Servants' latches on to 90s death metal at its best, combining technicality with brutality.
Death Yell's track 'Back from the Depths' is quite different in aesthetics, as it includes more elements from black metal in the form of some tremolo-picked passages. Interestingly, while quite different, from 'Blind Servants', this track is also compositionally quite complex and even features a number of more expressive elements. One such element is the surprisingly melodic guitar solos.
A nice little evil two-track package, this split is an excellent addition to any extreme metal collection.
