DEGREE ABSOLUTE are from Portland,Oregon and released this their sole studio album in 2006.This is very technical and often really heavy.There are vocals which are well done.By the way they are a three piece band who create a lot of thunder.Some might find this too heavy and complex but man is this impressive."Confession" is a little different as it opens with lots of atmosphere as the bass plays.Keyboards a beat then reserved vocals join in.We do get some power when the guitar comes in with some heaviness then back to the more laid back music.Cool song.It's one of the few tracks without brutal riffs and an all out onslaught.Another song that is similar is the over 11 minute closer "Ergo Sum".I really like this album and highly recommend it.These guys are so skilled !
