'Are You In?' is the fourth solo release of Goodbye Thrill frontman, Marc Ferreira, and what makes it different than his band is that this record has diverse variation but still heavily connected to the typical melodic hard rock. For example, in 'Tab of Yesterdays', he puts on a great banging riffs which is similar to Steelhouse Lane's classic tune, 'Metallic Blue', or like I see in 'Pay With Pain', that's what Paul Gilbert would play in any Mr.Big's given album, and check out 'Manner's Song', it's very 60s, somehow like Beatles and a part of it reminds me to Enuff Z'Nuff, all three are my fave songs here.
Other glowing tracks you need to listen to are 'Searching', a great melodic rock tune; 'Send It On', a brilliant hard rock piece; 'Woman', a good acoustical ballad; and the title track which started with an acoustical intro before evolving to a nice melodic hard rock bomb. Only couple of fillers here, but the whole album is an enjoyable affair especially after several intensive listening.
Production is good, best for him since it’s basically an independent release with no major support from any label. I'm pretty convinced that fans of Goodbye Thrill and melodic rock will find this release entertaining or in other words, while waiting for the new Thrill record, hopefully next year or two, this can be a great choice slipped in between.
