FIONA's comeback album, 'Unbroken', was heavily promoted in various melodic rock magazines but sadly the quality isn't exactly like what was written. Sure she played the 80s hooks that made her famous but lots of songs are too average and forgettable. 'Loved Along The Way' for example, I'm not sure why would she pick that as opener, at least 'Broken', the second track, is much better, even though that song itself isn't really great.
Two worthy tracks here that I spotted are the power ballad, 'Shadows of The Night', which featured her enchanting voice and incredible arrangement, and 'This Heart', a killer song with an awesome duet with Robin Beck. Three other okay tracks are 'I've Released You', 'Badge of Love', and 'Everything You Are', but the BRYAN ADAMS style track, 'Get Yer Kix' is poor, 'Salt On My Wings' is terrible and possibly the worst track, and 'I Love You But Shut Up' is too poppish and simply passable.
Bottomline, 'Unbroken' is bouncing between 60% and 70%, but after more intense spins, I think I'm able to give higher credits to some songs and deserved around 70%, but not a reasonable score to give this album above that.
