Hemdale is a grind-gore band from Mentor, Ohio. Formed in 1993, the band had a huge impact on the underground grind/gore/death scene with a massive sound and ridiculous live performances.
In addition, former drummer Craig Rowe was the mastermind behind Visceral Productions and responsible for a slew of underground bands being discovered and subsequently picked up by bigger labels. Among them: Nile, Exhumed, C.S.S.O., Adnauseum, Accursed, Embalmer, Dying Fetus and his own Hemdale.
The band split in 1997, reformed for a one-off show at the Ohio Metal fest in 2002, and reformed full time in 2013, with guitarist/bassist/vocalist Matthew J. Rositano the sole remaining original member, joined by Issac on drums and Patric on bass.
Hemdale was originally known as Choke, formed in 1992.
