Ascension through Lucifer's might...
Genre: black-thrash
After a minor hiatus, the Australian filth-masters in Nocturnal Graves released their second full length effort "...From the Bloodline of Cain" a couple of days ago via the kvlt label Hell's Headbangers Records.
The music falls somewhere between extreme thrash metal and black metal with plenty of death metal elements sprinkled on top. Thus, the istener is treated to old school blast beat, simple thrashy riffage played at ludicrous speed (Space Balls reference FTW), and harsh vocals plus chaotic guitar solos. While mostly at the ultra fast end of the gamut, the songs are kind of dynamic in the sense that, whenever things start to become too monotonous, a midtempo passage pops up and recaptures the listener's attention, just listen to 'Through the Devil's Flesh' or 'Ascension through Lucifer's Throne'.
The production is not polished or pristine, but it is not lo-fi either. In fact it has just enough rawness to give the album even more of an edge, but still clear enough that we can actually make out what is going on musically.
Indeed fued by Lucifer's might, "...From the Bloodline of Cain" is a full on Satanic speed attack, and fans of fierce and filthy Australian metal are bound to enjoy it immensely.
