This brazilian band, Orquídea Negra (Black Orchid in english, really nice name), come from my birth town, Lages-SC in the South of Brazil. And they were pioneers, cause there were just another 3 rock bands from the city I've heard of, and they were the first!
This record, released in 92, is a great surprise for me, I was expecting something with a lack of production and maybe some bad efects on guitars, drums and bass, but no!
André Graebin is a great vocalist, while the twin guitars are good played and smart, not a copy of the great bands at all.
This record, Who's Dead? is out of print, for more than 15 years, so I have a digital copy of it, I think it's not a legal copy, and I'm not pro piratary, not at all, but, I think it's the same when you ask a friend to tape it for you so many years ago, specially cause there's no way how to buy it! To compensate I have the only one available yet, the live CD More Live Than Never!
The nice thing is the cover version of the music that gave the band its name from the folk brazilian singer Zé Ramalho, which isn't present on the original record cause they were not allowed to record it, the only version of the song is on their demo, and it's a hell of a cover!
A must have for Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and the traditional NWoNHM in general.
