"Avohfasih" is the 2nd full-length studio album by US death metal/post-hardcore act Orwell. The album was self-released in September 2011 and made available for free download ("Name Your Price") on the band´s Bandcamp page. The physical version of the album is limited to 300 copies.
The music on the album is death metal with post-hardcore/metal elements. It´s usually brick heavy but at the same time atmospheric. I´m reminded quite a bit of the Finnish band Ghost Brigade. The music is generally epic and melancholic. The vocals are somewhere between growls and hardcore shouting. The musicianship is solid and the sound production pretty good, so "Avohfasih" is a release featuring many positive elements.
Overall "Avohfasih" is worth a listen if you think the above description sounds like something you´d enjoy. I´d say a 3.5 star (70%) rating is fair.
