PERC3PTION is a progressive metal band from São Paulo in Brazil.
In 2006, with the demise of the heavy metal band Travil, two members and friends Thariel Manteiga (bass) and Glauco Barros(guitar) wished to continue playing together . They invited Andre Xavier, drummer with the band Vulture, and Danilo Moraes (vocals) and Rick Leite (guitar) from Scarekrow, to play covers and songs from their old projects. In April 2007 it was agreed to make this arrangement more permanent, and Perception was formed.
The name PERC3PTION was chosen as an analogy of the band’s ability to create something new and original, adding the different tastes and influences of its members, resulting in different perceptions in people who listen to their music and read their lyrics. With this team Perc3ption composed their first song, The Third Eye, whose theme is the virtual reality and the domain of machines over men.
