With all the economic turmoil that's currently happening in Greece, I wish WILD ROSE all the best in the world because last year, 'Half Past Midnight' stole my attention as one of the great AOR albums from a relatively uncommon country, and hopefully they'll survive the crisis and produce more albums in the future. Lush of sweet keyboards as typical in the 80s AOR, WILD ROSE didn't try to create a new formula in their music, it's plain classic, and even the production is dusty and tried hard to emulate that decade's production.
All tracks here are very much enjoyable but several songs that I praised highly are 'Hold Me', midtempo ballads 'Goodbye' and 'It's All About Love', the extremely melodic 'Come Back' with a set of brilliant solos, and the best tune here is 'Another Shot'. The rest are solid as well, 'Fire In The Night' is dead sweet and 'Want You Back' is highly catchy.
I call WILD ROSE a close competitor to Australian band, WHITE WIDDOW, but I admit that WW's new album is still a better output and more varied since there are some songs in this album that will made you think, 'is it dejavu, I think that chorus has been done before'. The singer also was quite sloppy to some, perhaps the accent, but that doesn't bother me. I rated this 80% and a good buy if you love melodic rock and AOR
