KORN See You on the Other Side

Album · 2005 · Nu Metal

Great album made by Korn, very different from the predecessor Take a Look in the Mirror. This album shows a darker Korn using more eletronic elements but never leaving to be Nu-Metal in its essence.

See You On The Other Side opens with the preety good song Twisted Transistor, exelent guitar riff and a little bit dancer. In the sequence Politics comes in the same stile and Jonathan Davis is very well in vocals. Hypocrites shows all the Korn versality, strong beat and heavy guitar. Souvenir is another heavy song, begins with an exelent bass by Fieldy, the chorus is the high point in the song. The next track 2 Or a 2-Way begins eletronic and becomes into a powerful song with heavy guitar. After all this comes a slower song Throw Me Away with a dark stile and a great interpretation of Jonathan Davis. Open Up begins with an eletronic beat and a ripped guitar riff, the song has an fenomenal chorus, one of the best in the album. Coming Undone in the sequence has an antological riff, very heavy, showing that Munky is a great riff maker. Getting Off is another good song were Jonathan Davis is the spotlight, great performance. Liar is the heaviest song in the album, pure Nu-Metal in the vein. For No One has many influences of rap. The album ends with two dark songs, Seen it All, a slower song with and heavy guitar riff and Tearjerker, tottaly diferent from everything Korn ever made but a good song.

This is one of the best Korn´s album since Issues, different and variated, an exelent Nu-Metal album showing all the potencial of the band.

OZZY OSBOURNE The Ultimate Sin

The Ultimate Sin is the most underrated of Ozzy's albums. I don´t know how it is rated this way. All the tracks are wonderful, Jake E. Lee is very inspired in guitar performing amazing solos. Many say that this fase of Ozzy was the worst in all his career, it´s not true. The album begin wit the title track with a strong beat and a heavy riff and a good melody, in the sequence comes Secret Loser, a little bit glam rock but a good song. Never Know Why has an exelent melody, good riffs and a good solo.Thank God for the Bomb follows the glam stile but is an exepcional track with an wonderfull guitar work by Jake E. Lee. Never brings the best The Ultimate Sin riffs with Jake E. Lee detonating. Lightning Strikes is a powerfull heavy metal, on of the best in the album. Killer of Giants is a good balad, one of the best that Ozzy have made. Fool Like You is heavy and with exelent guitars but the rest of the band is good too. Ending the album is Shot In The Dark, the amazing song that Ozzy plays until now in the shows, one more time, Jake E. Lee is awesome in guitar. A wonderfull album with great guitars and melodies. And someone still dare to underrate it?

SYSTEM OF A DOWN Toxicity

This is my first review here and i could not let to talk about this album. Toxicity is the System Of a Down masterpiece and we can find here great songs. I can confess that never like much nu-metal but after listening this album i changed my opinion. The album shows incredible songs as Chop Suey and Aerials with great riffs and vocals. System Of a Down shows here that the metal do not need to be using the same bored ways from tradicional metal to be heavy metal. Here they only using heavy good riffs and the right melody make and wonderfull album
