So Vermillion Sands was a journalist, not a singer. Boy does it show. I'm guessing that the band had day jobs too.

Where to start with this mess?

Let's just say that the sleeve is more awesome than the music deserves by a very, very wide margin. I love the sleeve!

The title track is nicely produced - but that's the best you can say about it. Who would have thought that "angry" might be a synonym for "untalented"?

It's a slightly Motorhead punky-flavoured piece with dire vocals - which makes it sound far more appealing than it is in reality, trust me on that.

The vocals are only slightly more palatable and the music more acceptable on the next track, Nymphomania, which carries the hugely memorable tag line "I can't stop fucking around". Due to the title of the piece, you'll have to excuse me not censoring the word in the quote - it's graphical rather than offensive in my humble opinion, and saves this EP from getting the lowest score I can possibly award, due to the out-and-out honest and street-level attitude it pervades.

The final track, "Wild Boys (Ride Their Bikes)", is fairly interesting to start with, then descends into a dire dirge, with a drug-fuelled jam as outro. Given Vermillion Sands' self-styled reputation, and the uncompromising second song on this EP, I'm sure it would be fair to say, without wishing to be rude, that Vermillion herself probably fulfilled the bike role more than adequately.

Let's hope she was better at that than the singing thing...
