Warthur
The first Saint Vitus album with the infamous Wino on vocals is a marked improvement over Hallow's Victim, the band leaning a bit more on the Sabbath influence than the Pentagram this time around and in addition developing their own individual sound a bit more. The opening title track is some wonderfully slow and sludgy doom metal, setting a standard that the rest of the album admirably follows. Despite the lyrics of said track being based around nostalgia and the band's feelings of being unfashionable throwbacks, the album was in fact their most original to date, and is a groundbreaking landmark of the sludgier stoner end of doom metal.
