Running Wild changed up their sound for this album, which sees them amping up the power metal influence on their music tenfold to produce a fast-paced and energetic first entry in a trilogy of concept albums. It's enthusiastically and bombastically over-the-top, but then again so is the very idea of doing a concept album trilogy in the first place, and as far as power metal goes it's fairly competently performed though it lacks personality. I can imagine Running Wild's fans being quite divided over this one, because even though I haven't really been thrilled by what I've heard of their "pirate metal" phase, I will concede that it offered a very particular personality for the band - a personality which feels absent here.
