"Pump" is the tenth studio album by American hard rock band Aerosmith.

Certified Silver in Britain by the British Phonographic Industry, there is no doubt that "Pump" was a huge success. Over 6,000,000 copies were sold worldwide, and the album spawned 6 consecutive singles. I, however, find a certain dislike for the album. Read on to learn more.

1. Young Lust

Starting with some unusually heavy riffs for a track on this album, 'Young Lust' heads off the album. The typical Steven Tyler lyrics kick in, and kind of take away any of the specialty the song might have had. The song still has some great parts, and is definitely a good, nice tempo'd song. (7/10)

2. F.I.N.E.

Placing aside the horrible and highly unnecessary opening to the song, ( I can only explain it with "FYUMMPHM!") this track comes in with a more vocal based song. Unlike 'Young Lust', which contained parts that weren't dominated by Tyler's annoying lyrics, 'F.I.N.E.' is absolutely dominated by them. The lyrical value is so exceeding horrible, being the typical sex-based mindset, and giving us absolutely lame song. Being a song led by vocals, it is obvious that other instruments, such as guitar and drums are pushed to the back of the song to make way for Mr. Tyler's absolutely outstanding lyrics. And I honestly think Tom Hamilton died during the song, seeing as I hear no bass whatsoever. An absolutely ridiculous, bland track. (1/10)

3. Going Down/Love In An Elevator

Another blatantly titled song by Aerosmith, 'Love In An Elevator' is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. The instruments sort have a larger majority, and keep up a constant riff. The vocals seem more focused on now, and less repetitively dull. A nice track to salvage the ruins from 'F.I.N.E.'. (8/10)

4. Monkey On My Back

Coming in as track four is another zany, stupid track, smartly titled 'Monkey On My Back'. Although that opening sentence seemed like it was leading up to something about me going in to detail why I hate it, there is nothing of the such coming. In fact, this is just too weak of a track to really explain about. A typical, blues-y, bland track that doesn't deserve to really be a single. Not to mention, this song is overladen with so many innuendos that I can't even pick them all out. (4/10)

5. Janie's Got A Gun

'Janie's Got A Gun' is another favorite of mine from the album. Nice vocals, instrumentals, and the key sounds great. Another good song. (10/10)

6. Dulcimer Stomp/The Other Side

- 'Dulcimer Stomp' is a nice, bouncy intro to this great song, and is nice to the ears. Although not necessary and sort of unrelated to the song ahead, the opening is still standable.

'The Other Side' is probably my favorite track from the album. Nice lead and backing vocals take nice spotlight during the song, and give it that nice old Aerosmith feel. Not to mention that the song mixes a more minor key sounding feel alongside the typical Aerosmith sound, which makes for a nice experiment in music. The beat by the drums and guitar riffs are nice and bouncy. Definitely my favorite from the album, and most likely my favorite Aerosmith song of all time. (10/10)

7. My Girl

Right after an awesome track, Aerosmith had to come back with a bland tempo'd, innuendo-laden song to ruin it. Again, this track is too bland to explain fully. The tempo is nice and quick, but nothing really else to say. (4/10)

8. Don't Get Mad, Get Even

When I first heard this song, I was really expecting something great. The beat and vocals actually sounded nice, and had an obvious feel to a build-up. The lyrics also weren't blatantly about sex or love either. In fact, it was starting out pretty good. That was until the song kept dragging on as the same until the end. An absolute waste of potential. (5/10)

9. Hoodoo/Voodoo Medicine Man

How do I even explain this track. I don't know if they thought it would be funny to mash crazy sounds with lame Aerosmith feels, but they certaintly made something out of it. (3/10)

10. What It Takes

Ending the album with a nice, instrument - lacking track, 'What It Takes' finishes off the album. The song does not pick up at all, and if you really want to find out what it sounds like, just listen to 'Losing It' by Rush.

Well, there you have it. My review of "Pump", by Aerosmith. I hate to bash an artist like Aerosmith, and also the album i remember the most from my childhood. Sad to say, but this album just does not lead up to my expectations.
