This was the first album released by JUDAS PREIST's frontman Rob Halford under the band name HALFORD. The only band member i know besides Halford is drummer Bobby Jarzombek who has played with SPASTIC INK and ARCH/MATHEOS and is the present FATES WARNING drummer. This is such a great record though with Halford just killing it on vocals with those amazing high pitched screams along with his powerful singing voice. The big thing though is that we get a bunch of really good songs here for him to show-case his voice. This record kicks ass ! The opening title track almost makes my hair standup as he at first sings the word "Resurrection" in a reserved manner, then he screams that word. All hell then breaks out as Halford lets it rip. Killer ! "Made In Hell" is like a history lesson from Halford as he sings about the birth of Heavy Metal with words like "From memories of 68 when the wizard shook the world" of course a reference to BLACK SABBATH and then later "From Jazz and electricity and good old southern blues". The lyrics are really interesting to read throughout this track as Halford relays his personal history with Metal. He sings "I took the scream around the world from London to LA, unleashed in downtown Tokyo blew Godzilla away". It's an uptempo rocker. "Locked And Loaded" is a good heavy riff driven tune. "Night Fall" is nice and heavy as well with a METALLICA vibe. "Silent Screams" might be my favourite on the album. He sings in a laid back way early but then eventually erupts as contrasts continue. Love this one ! "The One You Love To Hate" features Bruce Dickinson on vocals along with Halford which for me is like a dream come true. The Producer Roy Z did Bruce's solo album and brought these two legends together. The last half of the album is a little inconsistant but there's certainly enough here to give the 4 stars. "Twist" is a cool tune. Yeah this is a huge comeback album for Halford.
