"The Prime Mover" is the second full-length studio album by Dutch industrial black metal act Control Human Delete. The album was released through Code666 Records in May 2013. It´s the successor to "Terminal World Perspective" from 2007 although the two full-length studio albums are bridged by the 2011 "Construct the Road Through Space" EP.

While the material on "The Prime Mover" continues the industrial black metal style of "Terminal World Perspective", it´s a more conscise and accessible release. It´s still Dødheimsgard, who is the greatest inspiration for Control Human Delete, and fans of "666 International" (1999) and especially "Supervillain Outcast" (2007) should find a lot to appreciate on this album. The drums are programmed but not as a replacement for a human drummer and they are instead utilized to create the right cold and eerie sci-fi atmosphere. The vocals are raw black metal snarling laced with the occasional nod towards death metal grunts. The riffs are heavy, punchy, and sharp, and there are omnipresent use of sound effects and atmospheric keyboards.

Control Human Delete are obviously skilled musicians but they compose some pretty interesting and powerful industrial black metal too. Packed in a professional, raw, and clear sounding production, the album also features a sound produciton which enhances the material. So upon conclusion "The Prime Mover" is a high quality release from Control Human Delete and while you might get the wrong impression if I call it easily accessible compared to the predecessor, it is indeed a much more catchy and immediate listen than "Terminal World Perspective". A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
