"Winds of Doom" is the first demo recording by Swedish thrash metal act Hatred. The demo was recorded and released in May 1987. Hatred formed in 1985, released three demos and then disbanded.

The demo features 6 tracks and a total playing time of 27:09 minutes. Stylistically this is speed metal tinged thrash metal (or maybe just speed metal). For a 1987 demo it sounds a bit old fashioned and it lacks the aggression, heaviness, and darkness of contemporary artists like Slayer and Dark Angel. Insted this sounds like it was released in 1983-1985 and is generally uptempo, energetic, and relatively generic in style with a lot of influences from traditional heavy metal.

But while the music style isn´t that interesting or unique, Hatred still show that they are a well playing unit, and that they can compose music (just because I don´t think it´s particularly interesting, doesn´t mean it´s not well made). The demo also features a decent demo sound quality, and it´s obviously recorded at a professional recording studio. A 2.5 star (50%) rating is warranted.
