UMUR
"The Aftermath of Amen" is the 2nd full-length studio album by Dutch death/thrash metal act Flesh Made Sin. The album was released through Karmageddon Media in 2009. It features the same lineup who recorded the predecessor "Dawn of the Stillborn" from 2004.
"Dawn of the Stillborn (2004)" featured a highly Slayer ("Hell Awaits (1985)") influenced thrash metal sound, but while "The Aftermath of Amen" also features a few elements pointing in that direction, Flesh Made Sin have become more brutal on this sophomore release, and "The Aftermath of Amen" is more in death/thrash metal territory than in more "straight" thrash metal ditto. Sharp and intense death/thrash riffs and rhythms, screaming chromatic guitar solos, and a rabid dog snarling lead vocalist in front.
It´s all delivered in a highly professional manner and with great skill and conviction, and in addition to that "The Aftermath of Amen" also features a powerful, detailed, and clear sounding production, which suits the material perfectly. Fans of artists like Dead head and Legion of the Damned, should find loads to enjoy here. It´s not the most original sounding release, but it still delivers a vicious and greatly enjoyable death/thrash attack that should please most fans of the genre. A 3.5 - 4 star (75%) rating is deserved.
