Shark attack...

Genre: crossover thrash / grindcore

Fast, furious and funny, "Shark Attack" is a thrash metal classic. Apart from featuring the unforgettable opener 'Shark Attack', the album is full of extremely fast thrash metal songs, many of which are on the verge of being grindcore due to Wehrmacht's use of blastbeats. The riffing is fast and furious, drawing both on thrash metal and hardcore punk, and fans of high speed music are going to love this album.

The tracks are not too long, which is perfect with this type of music, where intensity is a central element. Had the tracks been longer, the intensity would slowly disappear like the air from a balloon. While musicianship is not really prioritized, there are some fast shreddy solos which betray that, despite the sloppiness in performance, the Wehrmacht guys actually were skilled musicians.

Wehrmacht was one of the fastest thrash metal bands of the time, and this is documented on this speedfest of an album. If you're in the mood for breakneck speeds and intense, but humorous, metal music, you ought to check out this classic.
