The second demo of Infernal Void shows a band at crossroads, with the three tracks all tackling different styles. The opener Life is a Bitch takes on the melodic death made popular by certain Swedish groups, and does it quite succesfully. The opening melodies are great and it features some pretty cool riffs, but the very throaty shriek of the vocalist is a slight step back from their first release. Thankfully he switches to a deeper roar on the chorus.
Deathwish on the other hand is the poppiest thing the band would ever try, not so far from something that for example HIM could do if they had a death metal vocalist. It's a decent track, but I presume it would work a lot better with a raspy, cleaner, yet aggressive voice. And the chorus is played many too many times, considering the quite boring straightforwardness of it. The title track is a step up and closest thing to their first demo, with very thrashy verses and a chorus decorated by a guitar melody.
The sound is a big improvement from the first demo, but the songs just aren't that good and memorable despite their versatility. A step down, but nothing that couldn't be salvaged on future releases.
