Sarcofago's INRI is, of course, a major influence on the second wave of black metal - perhaps a big as influence as Mayhem's Deathcrush which came out at around the same time, since it is regularly cited as an inspiration by key figures in the Norwegian black metal scene. For my part, however, I don't think it has aged as well as that first Mayhem EP. The extreme subject matter, buzzsaw guitars and frantic drumming are all present, but this time around the low-budget production values detract from the music rather than adding to it (as is sometimes possible with black metal); specifically, the band sound rather muffled and subdued, which rather takes the edge off things. An interesting listen, and decent enough, but not something I see myself revisiting regularly.

Always thought that some of the obscure metal bands kinda 'weak' for me, but I'm curious so I'm always listening to a lot of different styles, bands and albuns.

The record, well, what can I say, this record is humour to me, I know that a lot of people really take it serious, as a lifestyle, but for me, my personal vision, is hard to listen some things here and don't laugh, like 'Desecration Of Virgin' for example.

But, one thing we have to agree, this is part of the Brazilian metal music scenario, at a time when what we call BRock was all around, so imagine a band like Sarcófago doing their heavy sound while bands are all going new age. It's part of the metal history here. But it's kinda screwed up for me! ;)
