CONTROL HUMAN DELETE picture
Control Human Delete was formed in the year 2001 AD as collaboration of humans with the same musical and conceptual intent. Control Human Delete is about exploring musical borders in search for the ultimate excitement that dark and cold music can deliver. In the process of it no concessions are made. Control Human Delete will produce its music as it comes and evolves according its own will.

As a result of this, the first recording saw daylight in 2003 and was entitled 'ERROR SPECTRE'. 'ERROR SPECTRE' was well received by the Dutch press: a bizarre and futuristic package of heavy death-/ blackmetal riff, industrial sounds, drum computers, samples and distortion (Lords of Metal), if I had a label I would immediately sign this band (Metalfan), Highly original and qualitative impeccable (Zware Metalen), this release is pretty impressive. (Rock-ezine) It took the attention in the Dutch metal scene that gave Control

"The Prime Mover" is the second full-length studio album by Dutch industrial black metal act Control Human Delete. The album was released through Code666 Records in May 2013. It´s the successor to "Terminal World Perspective" from 2007 although the two full-length studio albums are bridged by the 2011 "Construct the Road Through Space" EP.

While the material on "The Prime Mover" continues the industrial black metal style of "Terminal World Perspective", it´s a more conscise and accessible release. It´s still Dødheimsgard, who is the greatest inspiration for Control Human Delete, and fans of "666 International" (1999) and especially "Supervillain Outcast" (2007) should find a lot to appreciate on this album. The drums are programmed but not as a replacement for a human drummer and they are instead utilized to create the right cold and eerie sci-fi atmosphere. The vocals are raw black metal snarling laced with the occasional nod towards death metal grunts. The riffs are heavy, punchy, and sharp, and there are omnipresent use of sound effects and atmospheric keyboards.

Control Human Delete are obviously skilled musicians but they compose some pretty interesting and powerful industrial black metal too. Packed in a professional, raw, and clear sounding production, the album also features a sound produciton which enhances the material. So upon conclusion "The Prime Mover" is a high quality release from Control Human Delete and while you might get the wrong impression if I call it easily accessible compared to the predecessor, it is indeed a much more catchy and immediate listen than "Terminal World Perspective". A 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.

"Terminal World Perspective" is the debut full-length studio album by Dutch industrial black metal act Control Human Delete. The album was released through Code666 Records in March 2007. Control Human Delete formed in 2001 and released the "Error Spectre" EP in 2003.

Stylistically the material on "Terminal World Perspective" continue the industrial black metal style of the preceding releases. It´s a pretty long album featuring 9 tracks and a total playing time of 71:18 minutes. Two of the tracks are 10 minutes plus long ambient keyboard/synth darkwave compositions though, so there´s some variation to the concept there. The remaining tracks are loaded with programmed blasting drums, fast-paced black metal riffing, the occasional mid-paced, heavy, and often dissonant part, and snarling aggressive black metal vocals. The tracks often feature sci-fi tinged effects, samples, and keyboards/synths, which will transport you right into space.

"Terminal World Perspective" is a well produced release, featuring a powerful, raw, and detailed sound production, which suits the material well, and Control Human Delete are a well playing unit too, so the basics are in place and of a good quality. The songwriting is also relatively intriguing, although few tracks stand out or are memorable beyond their playing time. The two ambient tracks are a little too long for their own good, and while I don´t think they are out of place on the album in terms of atmosphere, they would probably have been better suited on a sci-fi movie soundtrack.

So upon conclusion "Terminal World Perspective" is arguably an interesting and different sounding black metal release, although other black metal artists have done similar things before, and with better results too. Still a 3.5 star (70%) rating isn´t all wrong.

The Dutch outfit Control Human Delete was formed in 2001 by Christiaan Hofs (guitars), Daniel Bakker (bass guitars, programming, sampling, synths), Ton Oortgiesen (synths, sampling and programming) and Rien Oortgiesen (vocals). The idea was to explore musical boundaries in an attempt to search for the ultimate excitement that dark and cold music can deliver (it says here). They released their first demo in 2003, and followed this up with their first full-length album ‘Terminal World Perspective’ in 2007. This gained them some recognition so they decided to add a second guitarist and a ‘real’ drummer but for various reasons this didn’t work out and the band went back to the original line-up and commenced work on this their second album.

I haven’t heard any of their other work, so came to this ‘fresh’, and found that when playing this at the correct volume this is a beast of a record. Industrial black metal with electronic influences and blastbeats, it is almost as if The Berzerker went off with Rammstein, spent an evening with Pig Destroyer and then found themselves lost in the Norwegian woods and took solace in whatever they could find. Cold, bleak, somehow futuristic but also with a fury and aggression yet overloaded with atmosphere this is quite a piece of work. To be honest, it took quite a few plays for me to get inside it and for a long period of tie I really didn’t enjoy this, but the more I persevered the more layers I uncovered and the more I understood just what this is all about. Not for the fainthearted.

CONTROL HUMAN DELETE Error Spectre

"Error Spectre" is a 6 track, 35:35 minutes long EP release by Dutch industrial black/death metal act Control Human Delete. It´s a self-produced affair and it´s the band´s first official release (they did however release the "Promo MCD 2003" earlier the same year).

The music on the EP varies between industrial/electronic/ambient sections and more raw black/death metal parts. There are both speaking/talking sections and growling/raspy vocal parts in the music. Movie samples top the soundscape off. On Paper this sounds quite intriguing with a sci-fi theme to further catch my interest, but it´s not a perfect release by any means. I find myself enjoying the more harsh black/death metal parts of the music very much and bands like Dødheimsgard and The Axis of Perdition come to mind when the music is best. It´s when the band plays the more industrial/ambient sections that my attention begin to wander. Those parts are pretty long and they are also too long drawn and tedious. If they had been short atmosphere creating pieces they would have been great, but as they are now they drag my rating down.

The sound production is decent although it sounds a bit like a home recording. It´s not a major issue though. Upon conclusion there are many interesting things going on, during the playing time of "Error Spectre" and fans of industrial black/death metal could find this EP of some value. I´d get their debut full-length studio album "Terminal World Perspective (2007)" first though as the band at that point had learned a great deal about composing more well balanced industrial black/death metal. A 2.5 - 3 star (55%) rating is still warranted though.
